1 article a week, breaking down a Christian moral or political position, examining biblical text and news, while exposing the underlying meaning. Let’s begin.

Why do Christians believe what they do, and how has it shaped our country and our own collective beliefs of right and wrong? If you sincerely and deeply believed that non-Christians are destined for hell, that you are going receive eternal life, that sex was only allowed in marriage, that the government was allowing the killing of tens of thousands of unborn people, and that Trump was your best shot of protecting your religious values, How would you act, and why? What lengths would you rationally go to for the sake of your beliefs?

If you are one of those believers, perhaps you will already be closing this page, uninterested in seeing the doctrines you profess closely examined. But if you are right and confident in your own beliefs, what is there to fear, but enriching your own position by comparing it to the secular perspective? Here we explore and critically examine the biblically inspired beliefs of modern day Christians, who number over a billion believers world wide. Their influence in our politics, our history, and our views on right and wrong have exerted a profound influence on modern life. Their religious beliefs continue to be exported to new places and countries. They run some of the most powerful, well financed non-governmental organizations in the world, and they seek that all should believe as they do.

As an X-Christian believer, I have studied the bible deeply and it’s associated theologies. I understand and sympathize with those who believe the dogma, having practiced it myself for years, and I also see it’s potential for great harm from my own lived experience. Using that knowledge and a rigorous moral and scientific framework, We will confront this religious power structure directly, breaking apart holy text, and examining what Christian theology and politicks really says about morality. With a Sam Harris like approach we apply objective moral reasoning to the Bible and their professed to see exactly how they stacks up, revealing from within what Christianity is really about.
